Math Circle

A New Tinker Club Experience

Our Philosophy

The goal is not simply to find the right answer — it is to understand why the mathematics works.

Tinker Club Math Club uses the Art of Problem Solving (AoPS) curriculum, a rigorous, problem-solving-based approach designed for students who are already performing well in school and are ready to move beyond memorizing formulas and completing worksheets.

Students begin with challenging problems, explore different approaches, discuss their reasoning, and receive step-by-step guidance from their instructor. Along the way, instructors identify common misconceptions and use them as opportunities for deeper learning.

"Students are already doing well in school. We want to help them understand mathematics more deeply."

What to Expect in Math Circle

More than a better grade — our goal is to help students go deeper into the concepts they're learning, discover how mathematics connects to the world around them, solve puzzles and challenging problems, and develop confidence when facing problems they've never seen before.
